August is over. What does that mean? Out with the old writing challenge and in with a new one. Last month, I asked writers to answer, ‘Where did I come from?’ in the form of a creations story.
Ozlem Yikici joined in on that challenge with her story entitled Once-upon-a-time…
September is here and for this month I am challenging you to go back to school. I can feel some of you cringing at the mere thought. Yes, I know for some of us the mention of school has us running to the phone to book an appointment with a therapist. If that is the case, use it in your writing. You can write about primary, secondary or even university. You can do it from any point of view such as a child, teacher, janitor or even an adult student. The story can be in any genre, so if there were zombies in your high school and you want to share that with us, go for it.
The rules:
- Make sure your story takes place in a school.
- Keep it to roughly 500 words (although if you need more that is okay too).
- Post your story in the comments section below so we know where to find it.
- The deadline is the last day of September.
- Have fun!
I also want to mention that I will be participating in Voice Week from September 26th through September 30th. It is a great challenge to help writers like myself experiment with voice in our writing. It is an open challenge so if you want to take part click on the link and check it out.
A very good challenge Billie Jo, I shall see if I can be inspired…
Can’t wait to see!
Billie Jo -I got inspired; see what you think (it’s right at the bottom of the post): A Mixed Bag of News, Updates & the First Campaign Challenge – The Calling…
Ok, I was not completely happy with that last entry so: here’s my new entry (it’s over the 500 limit word count -I know! *apologetic smile*): Hansel & Gretel: Our (Untold) Story I hope you like it 🙂
I did not get around to last month’s challenge but I will definitely take this one on!
Thanks for a wonderful prompt.
Perhaps I just need glasses but is there a button to subscribe to your blog by email?
I may redesign soon because the subscribe button is all the way at right and near the bottom. A few people have had trouble finding it.
I hope you get the chance to take part. It would be great to have a historical back to school story.
I’m in Billie Jo. Since I’m a perpetual student, this one should be fun!
Very good to hear. I look forward seeing what you come up with.
Billie Joe,
Thanks for subscribing to my blog and allowing me to follow you home!
hugs~

I had a plan for last month’s challenge but family stuff intervened. It did involve a school library. Hmmmm….
Perhaps it will work for this one then! I know all too well about family stuff at the moment. Glad to hear your mother is feeling a bit better.
