Voice Week – Post 3 – October 3rd

The Blue Lagoon is a newbie. I think Martini boy has taken a liking to her. He is harmless. He is a know it all but an inoffensive one. His friend is a cider guy. He is a character. The rest are all pints and most of them regulars. The Blue Lagoon must be the problem.

Twenty years in the job and I have never felt it this bad. The first ten I spent in town. Tips were good back then. Tips don’t exist in this dive. Thick air is swirling all around as if it is planning a way to crush me. Something bad is going to happen tonight. I can feel it.

This is my third entry into Voice Week.

About Billie Jo Schinnerer

Born and raised on the edge of the Helderberg Escarpment in eastern New York. Formerly a teacher. Moved to the North West area of England in 2003. Now a mother of three who doesn’t really know what she wants to be when she grows up.

Hasn’t been a week for reading, but I’m so glad I’m getting through all the Voice Week entires now. I love how you’re taking this scene from different viewpoints and giving us a real insight through just a few words each time.
The bartender’s my favourite so far and there are still two days to go!!

  2. Definitely the bartender. I love how he refers to everyone by their drinks. And the Ominous Something at the end…aha, the Blue Lagoon is trouble. I had an inkling she was there for some special reason.

The bartender always knows everything 🙂 If you are good, you observe and reap the benefits.

I wonder who she really is…..

Love the tension building towards the end! I love this character’s quick, sharp analysis of all the others.
